You’ve heard it here first! We just spoke with SRM USA and the long-awaited wireless-ready SRM crank is now available. The details are as follows:
*The Dura Ace crank is the only crank currently available with the wireless sending coil. It will still ship (and work) with the current PC-V display. To run the system wireless today, you’ll need to purchase, separately, the Garmin 705.
*The new PC-VI which will be the mate to the wireless crank will be available in August 2008.
*Future crank brands will be offred by SRM in late summer with the wireless technology. The Dura Ace 7800 crank is the only version available today.
*The new Dura Ace crank is now compatible with Scott Addict and Trek Madone frames.
*The Professional Dura Ace crank is now exclusively shipping as wireless ready. The “up-until-now” iteration will no longer ship. If you order Dura Ace, you automatically get wireless-ready technology.
*The retail cost for the wireless-ready Dura Ace SRM system is now $3950 which includes a current PC-V, the wireless-ready Dura Ace 7800 crank, and speed/power sensors with wires.
*The retail cost for the new wireless-ready Dura Ace 7800 crank is $3050.
