After months of preparation and careful parts selection, our Ibis Mojo SL demo bike is built and ready for test riding. We chose a light-but-not-stupid group, opting for DT Swiss wheels, a mix of SRAM X.O and Shimano XTR, and some Race Face and Edge products mixed in. Yesterday was the first ride and I was left with three thoughts:
1. 140mm is a very nice amount of travel! I thought 100mm was luxury. Rolling over obstacles was too easy, and now I need to learn to jump.
2. The geometry and responsiveness was a pleasant surprise. In tight corners, the bike responded with agility and the shorter chainstays were appreciated.
3. The overall bike weight, with pedals, is about 24.75. This was super-noticable, given how much travel the Mojo SL affords. Picking the front end up and over obstacles was still a breeze.
Here are a few photos of the new machine, and Dieter contemplating some Broingham stunts on his Ibis. Give us a shout today to test ride the Ibis Mojo SL.
