2012 Seven Brochure
Fifteen Years. That's how long the folks at Seven Cycles have been giving heart, sweat, and soul to crafting some of the finest bikes in the world. What follows is a glimpse into Seven Cycles for 2012. [gallery]
5th year bike
We recently celebrated five fantastic years at CBS. In celebration of our 5th year anniversary, we predictably collaborated with our friends at Seven Cycles to offer five limited edition models. On a rainy day in March, we took the Full-on Race anniversary bike on a tour of Seattle, and met some fine folks along the way.
Prior to 2009, the last time Beverly rode a bike was in the 80's. In 2008, we collaborated with Seven Cycles to build a special step-through ladies frame, complete with matching fenders. Beverly was gifted said Green Machine and now rides her Seven to work every day. I am proud of Beverly for making a commitment to bike commuting; I'm even happier that she said "yes" when I proposed!
Sometimes, we work with great athletes. Chris is one of those special individuals. Collegiate swimmer, full-time professional photographer, recent Cat 4/5 time trial state champion: Chris is the real deal.
The man, the myth, the legend: Dieter E, CBS's technical guru.
Sometimes, special projects must happen.  This year, we collaborated with Seven Cycles to pay homage to the 16th Stage of the 2010 Giro d' Italia.   This stage is a 12.9km individual time trial to the top of Plan de Corones, sitting at 7455 feet.   21 special bikes will be built-to-order, sold exclusively through Cascade Bicycle Studio and Ride Studio Cafe.
Our friend and customer Greg is half of Motofish Images.   Which half of the joint is up for grabs.   Our pal Matthew Clark hooked up with Greg on a rainy Seattle day to shoot him on his BMC Racemaster.   Check it out!
Kurt came to us for service on his Parlee.   We hit it off instantly, and began working on all things cyclocross.   After a month of private cross practice, and some early season races, Kurt decided the bike of all bikes would be a Parlee CX with Shimano Dura Ace Di2 and Shimano C35 tubular wheels with Dugast Rhino tires.   Kurt's bike was a dream to build; but more importantly Kurt's desire to learn about all things cross was the best!
Marsa came to CBS as a rowing coach first, and a cyclist second.  In two short years, Marsa saw great results on the cyclocross circuit in Seattle and decided to go Focus Mares for 2011.
German precision: Focus bikes sums this up nicely. We built our first Focus carbon cross bike today, and it was promptly raced the same night at a local cross race. Most of the photos you see on our Stories page are taken by Matthew. What follows is the rare glimpse of a photographer shooting his own bike!
Nys and Albert
Christmas in Belgium is like France in July:   lots of bike racing happening.   Our friend Matthew Clark traveled to Belgium and captured Round 5 of the GVA Trofee series.    Belgian wonder-twins Sven Nys and Niels Albert quickly separated themselves from the rest of the field, and rode 2-up for most of the race.    Nys was looking to have the better form on the day, until an untimely error in the materiaal post cost him the race, as Albert rode to victory.
We like Phil.  He's probably one of our favorite clients.   When you meet Phil, your instant sense is commanding calmness.   We've had the pleasure working with Phil on two Seven Cycles.   What follows is his favorite Seven.
