Tour of the Unattended

July 11th to July 15th

In celebration of the second week of the Tour de France, Cascade Bicycle Studio is proud to present the 1st Annual Tour of the Unattended.

The Tour of the Unattended is a cumulative, 5-day SOLO cycling challenge taking place on familiar routes in greater-Seattle where riders will complete five unique stages, exclusively solo, report their data, and receive a ranking.

Each stage must be ridden on the prescribed day,  on the prescribed course.   Daily and overall rider rankings will be posted each day.    There will be two categories of participation:  Male and Female.  Prizes from Shimano, Mavic, Cyclocross Magazine, and Lazer helmets will be awarded to the top-3 men and the top-3 women for overall rankings.

RULES:

  • Must ride solo (no drafting or pacelines; “Group Doping”).
  • Participation based on waiver confirmation.
  • All rules of the road must be followed.
  • Stage must be ridden on the given route on the given day.
  • Stage can be ridden anytime during the day; GPS file must be sent by 9:30 pm
  • Optimizing weather conditions is acceptable (Weather Doping).
  • No road vehicle drafting (Transportation Doping).
  • Road bikes must be used without aero bars or disk wheels (Aero Doping).
  • Loop stages can be started anywhere on the loop, but must go in direction prescribed.
  • Time Trial or Hill Climb stages must start at the prescribed start.
  • Rankings will be based on moving time.
  • Rankings will be corrected to the distance of the provided map.

DATA SUBMISSION:

Please email the following data each day (in the following format) in the subject line by 9:30 PM the same day to:  results at cascadebicyclestudio dot com.  Any results emailed after 9:30 PM will not be tabulated.

  1. Last Name, First Name, Moving time, Distance (in miles), Average moving speed, Male/Female
  2. GPX or TCX (Garmin-file)

RANKINGS:

Rankings will be posted by noon the day after the stage on cascadebicyclestudio.com.   You may register for a single stage or all five stages, but the overall results will be based on participation in all five stages only.

PRIZES:

Awards will be presented for the top-3 men and the top-3 women
